Low Rez Jam 2014

Pixel Tournament 2014 Logo

This month was Low Rez Jam 2014 where the goal was to create a game with a maximum screen resolution of 32×32 pixels. The game could be about anything so the only limitation was my mind. I decided to create a game called Pixel Tournament 2014.

Pixel Tournament 2014 is a game where the player has to knock opponents of the level whilst not falling off itself. The player can accomplish this goal by using his trustworthy pixel gun which pushes opponents back. But as time goes along more and more opponents will start to spawn. The controls for the game are very simple, WASD keys to move and arrow keys to shoot the pixel gun.

Pixel Tournament 2014 was build over couple of weeks in May and I think overall I spend around 24 hours on it. I found the game very fun and entertaining (one of the first for one of my jam games). The gameplay might not be original but it certainly was fun while I was testing it. I recommend for people to play it during a break. I am also very proud of the colors and sounds used within the game, which I found pleasing for both my eyes and ears. I think this is one of the most satisfied game jam games I have ever made. I was so proud that I even created a gameplay trailer for it, which you can see at the end of this post.

Pixel Tournament 2014 is also my game for June 2014 for One Game A Month.

You can click here to download or play the game. I hope you enjoy playing it as much as I enjoyed making it.

Update: Jupiter Hadley played my game as part of her playing all Low Rez Jam games created. I have embedded the video below.
