For the fifth year in a row, it is time for my end of year list.
This year has been lackluster, even though my game, Akuto: Mad World, has achieved quite a lot of recognition and funding, I feel I didn’t accomplish as much as I could this year. I didn’t read as many books as I would have liked, didn’t play as many games as I would have wanted, and I didn’t get to draw or write as much as I should have.
On the other hand, it was a great year for music and TV shows. Both entertainments put out products that I really enjoyed all year round.
Next year, I am going to try to release more content, no matter how good or bad it might turn out to be. Hopefully it will turn out more good than bad.
Now, on to my list…
2016 was the year where I didn’t just release my first game, but the year where I released TWO games! I feel like DMX, without the classics under my belt. Now, for the fourth year in a row, here is my end of year list.
Over the years I have drank some alcoholic beverages but I never managed to find the perfect one. Therefore, starting from now, I am going to start my slow search to my perfect alcoholic drink. In this post, I am going to track all the drinks I had, and will have, over the years. So without further ado, you can see the list below.
2015 was a year with more ups than downs. So many things have changed for me over this past year, so many things I have enjoyed. Now, as I have done for the past two years, is to make the list of greatest things I have enjoyed over the past 365. But before I start my list, I want to say that 2015 was the year of Hip Hop. This will go down as one of the golden years. So many classics were released. So much good music. It was unbelievable. Now back to the scheduled list.
2014 was quite a year. Many things happened, many things I learned. Now is not the time to talk about that. Now is the time to reflect back on 2014 and talk about what I enjoyed best. Some of the items on this list were not released in 2014 but I have still added them to the list as I got a chance to experience them this year. Therefore, without further ado, here is my list of the best of 2014.
I was recently looking through my backlog of games I still have to complete (or even start in some cases). It was slowly but surely growing over the past few years. I decided it was time to take action. From this day on, I am going to start managing my time when I play games. This will allow me to spend my time more resourcefully whilst I try to complete games. I will do this by tracking all the games I have completed and all the games I own and still have to complete.
I count a game as completed if it meets any of the following criteria:
- Completing all main missions on any difficulty
- Completing one season
- Playing all online game modes
- Achieving a certain rank online
- Completing the game on any format
Not all of the criteria will be valid for every type of game. Some people will argue with my list of criteria and say it does not count as a game being completed. However, this list of criteria is for my backlog. Everyone’s criteria will differ for what counts as completing a game. This is my personal backlog that I am trying to complete to a level that will satisfy me. I feel satisfied if I meet any of the criteria listed above.
My goal is to eradicate my backlog list in 4-8 years (fingers crossed). Click on this post to see the list of games I have completed and what games I still have to complete.
So it is the end of another year. A lot has happened this year. I graduated from university. I created and completed my first (not so brilliant) game. And most importantly, I managed to keep my blog going for SIX months! That is a very long time, especially considering how many times I tried this in the past.
I have also enjoyed lots of stuff this year. Everything from books to TV series and anything in between. I haven’t played as many games as I would have liked to this year but hopefully I can change that next year. In this list I am just going to write everything I have liked over the past twelve months. Some of this is not new (some games I have enjoyed have been out since 2009!) but that does not mean I am going to exclude it from my list. So here is my list in no particular order.
