Welcome to February’s monthly update for Akuto: Showdown (previously known as Akuto: Mad World). This month, I completed Akuto: Showdown. Yes, you read that correctly. The game is feature complete and development is finished. The game will be releasing from Early Access on March 28, 2019. If you haven’t noticed, I have also changed the name of the game from Akuto: Mad World to Akuto: Showdown.
You can read on for more information about the game, with a full list of the final updates following that. And remember, if you like the game, recommend it to your friends or leave us a review.
Akuto: Showdown is available from Steam, Humble Store, and itch.io. Join me on my Discord server to talk more about Akuto: Showdown and my other games.
Name Change
I have been planning to change the name of the game for a long time, as I found the ‘Mad World’ part of the name did not make much sense or explains what the game is about. I spent several months thinking of new names and finally decided on ‘Akuto: Showdown’. I feel that the name presents the game better and even explains it a lot more compared to the old name
It is still the same game, just with a new name.
Fixes and Updates in February
- Fixed issue where match stats would not reset when starting a new match
- Updated menu and level music
- Removed online modes
- Implemented new leaderboards
- Implemented achievements (in-game and Steam)
- Steam trading cards
- Updated game name
Plans for March
I will be releasing the game on March 28, 2019 for PC platforms. That is around five weeks away from writing this right now. The reason for waiting several weeks before releasing the game from Early Access is because I still want to test it thoroughly and make sure that there are no bugs in it and everything works as intended.
And remember, if you like the game, recommend it to your friends or leave me a review.
