no brake no gain
This month, progress on no brake no gain has been more focused on content creation rather than pure development. I’m happy to report that I achieved my goal of creating a test level, and the results were incredibly promising. The gameplay felt smooth and, honestly, really fun. The driving physics and overall feel of the game are coming together, and it’s exciting to see the vision take shape.
Moving forward, the next steps are to expand on this by creating more levels, adding more vehicles, and integrating dynamic scenes to enhance the game’s cinematic feel. These elements will really bring no brake no gain to life, giving players a variety of adrenaline-pumping challenges to race through.
GIVE ME A BLADE
Big news for Untitled Game… it finally has a name: GIVE ME A BLADE. This game will be all about mastering physics-based melee combat in chaotic, fast-paced environments. Players will race through vibrant levels, each filled with eccentric enemies and unpredictable challenges. The goal? Complete your mission as quickly as possible. Whether you’re reaching an exit, assassinating a target, or retrieving an item, the objective is always about speed and precision.
While speedrunning with melee combat may sound counterintuitive, I believe this will create an intense, satisfying experience. The physics-driven combat forces you to balance between fighting and moving quickly. It won’t be about mindless hacking and slashing. Players will be encouraged to bypass enemies when possible, focusing on speed without sacrificing the weight and strategy of combat.
Unfortunately, I didn’t manage to complete the combat prototype this month as planned. The weapon system, which I’ve been working hard on, took longer than expected to develop. However, this system is now in place, and while there’s more to do, it’s a significant step forward.
But after much consideration, I’ve decided to pause development on GIVE ME A BLADE until early next year. This will allow me to focus fully on finishing no brake no gain, which is much further along in development. Once that project is complete, I’ll return to GIVE ME A BLADE with fresh energy and ideas.
Summary
This month’s update is a bit shorter due to some time away, but I now have a clear plan for the future of both no brake no gain and GIVE ME A BLADE. Moving forward, I’ll be concentrating on finishing no brake no gain by completing the GUI, developing new levels, creating movie-themed challenges, and adding new cars to the roster.
Exciting updates are on the horizon, so stay tuned! Until next time, happy gaming!
