November 2025 Update

New Game Nearly Ready to Show

This month was a big step forward for the new project. One of the major updates, for the third time in two months, was the GUI. Why keep revisiting the GUI? Because it’s one of the hardest and most important elements in game development. It is the first thing players interact with, long before the gameplay or art have a chance to shine.

And honestly, I enjoy working on UI/UX far more than I expected. Getting spacing, readability, transitions, and interaction flow just right can make or break the player’s first minute with the game. This time, the new GUI pass finally feels like it matches the tone and pace of the game.

Beyond UI work, I wrapped up the tutorial system, which now gives new players a clear, hands-on introduction to the core mechanics. It will inevitably evolve over time as the game becomes more feature-complete, but right now the foundation is solid and fully functional.

On the content side:

  • I have been doing a ton of 3D modelling.
  • I built a growing library of environment assets.
  • I created my first ever vehicles, which has been surprisingly fun and way more challenging than expected. Getting proportions, silhouettes, and readability right for small screens is a whole different discipline.

With all that said, the game is very close to being ready for a first public look. I’ll be revealing it properly in next month’s dev log. What I can say already is that it is another car game, and that it will be coming out on mobile first.

Summary

Short update this month, mainly because most of the progress I’ve made is directly tied to features I’m not ready to show publicly just yet. I also didn’t hit some of last month’s goals, which was showing the first look at the game and releasing a video dev log.

The reason for no reveal are mentioned earlier, and I would prefer to show something cohesive than very work-in-progress. The reason for no video dev log is quite simple: I simply did not have time as production was priority for me right now.

But with the holidays coming up next month, I’ll finally have some breathing room to produce a video dev log next month and reveal the game with proper visuals.

Until next time, happy gaming!
