
Video Dev Log
Unfortunately, there won’t be a video dev log this month due to unforeseen personal circumstances. The regular schedule will resume next month, and I plan to include even more insights and gameplay footage to complement the written updates.
Trial 1 Tests Completed
All the tests in Trial 1 are now complete. These tests build directly on the Evaluation (tutorial) mode, gradually ramping up difficulty and introducing more complex traps and environmental challenges. Players will need to navigate a mix of hazards, timing puzzles, and tricky obstacles that require precise control and planning.
Each test also includes unique objectives to encourage mastery and replayability, such as:
- Maintaining a target average speed.
- Avoiding collisions with props entirely.
- Collecting the letters C-A-R, a callback to objective from no brake no gain.
These objectives are designed not only to add replayability but also to challenge players to experiment with driving skills, risk-reward decisions, and precision navigation.
Trial 1 Sessions Completed
In addition to the main tests, the first Session for Trial 1 has also been completed. For context, Sessions are grind-focused gameplay loops where players can earn bonus credits or gears by repeatedly completing Session specific goals.
The first Session in the game is called Ghost Laps where:
- Players must complete a lap within a set time limit.
- Each lap completed spawns a ghost version of their car, which races independently on the track.
- These ghosts add dynamic difficulty, forcing the player to anticipate multiple vehicles and plan their driving lines carefully.
This creates emergent gameplay scenarios that are both intense and entertaining, pushing the player to balance speed, skill, and awareness.
Early Access Trailer
Here is the first look at the trailer for the Google Play Early Access release.
Release Date
The Early Access release on Google Play is coming very soon, with plans to have it out hopefully next month. I will be announcing the exact release date imminently, so keep an eye on the dev blog and social channels for the official announcement.
Summary
This month has been highly productive. My main achievements include:
- Completing all Trial 1 Tests.
- Completing the Trial 1 Session.
- Implementing numerous bug fixes to ensure a smooth Early Access experience.
Next month, the main goals are clear:
- Release the game, or at minimum, announce a confirmed release date.
- Continue polishing the mechanics and fixing any remaining issues identified by testers.
Trial 1 sets the foundation for the rest of the game, and with this content locked in, the Early Access build is shaping up to be stable, engaging, and full of replayable challenges.
