No More One Game A Month

One Game A Month Logo

As you may remember that at the beginning of this year, I decided to make around twelve games. Well nine games in and I have decided that I am going to stop creating one game a month.

The main reason I started one game a month was to improve on my game development skills and get into the habit of completing games within a short period. I believe that my development skills are now at a level where I can, and should, tackle a medium to long-term project. This means creating a type of game that would like to develop and play.

Overall, I enjoyed one game a month a lot. I believe every beginner game developer should try to create one game a month (or maybe even one game a week).

I am not 100% sure on what I will be creating next. I have several ideas that I want to prototype. After developing the prototypes, I will test them out and spend my time working on the game I find the most fun. Once I find the prototype that I find the most fun, I will write about it on my blog.

However, the game I will be developing will not mean that I will stop participating in any game jams from now on. It is always nice to make a quick and fun game every now and then. I will most likely be participating in Ludum Dare. Sometimes I will participate in other small game jams here and there. I will write about any game jams I do participate in on my blog.
