A Very Late Update

Akuto Zero - Gameplay

So let’s get this out of the way, I am making this post way, WAY later than I originally planned. A few weeks turned into a few months and here I am now, posting 8 months later than planned. So below is everything that has happened since my post in November.

So the game I was working in November is currently put on hold. I did get a playable build and it was leaning more in the direction of Akuto than Bad Business. The game is fun but it hasn’t got that special something, that je ne sais quoi. So until I find out what I am missing from that game, I’m going to leave it on hold and spend more time on my other projects.

Tactical Bandits 2, the game I said I probably won’t take further than a prototype, is going to be not taken further than a prototype. It is fun, I did get online multiplayer working, but there is nothing unique about the game that will help it stand out from the competition. While I was working on this game, I saw other developers have a much more interesting take on slow-motion real-time tactics games than Tactical Bandits 2.

So now you are probably wondering what I am working on. Well this game started out from my frustration with not being able to make progress with the two projects mentioned prior. So let me announce my next game… Akuto Zero!

Akuto Zero is the prequel to Akuto: Showdown, a fast-paced action game where players compete with swords and guns in intense dynamic levels. The game will be in 2.5D, will have singleplayer, local co-op and multiplayer, and, most importantly, ONLINE multiplayer! Yes, you read that right. Akuto Zero will have online multiplayer. We designed the game from the ground up and found a good compromise between gameplay and online latency to ensure it will be a fun game.

To tide you over until the next update, below are some in-game GIFs of Akuto Zero.
