July 2022 Update

July Update Sign

Another great month, with new weapons, bug fixes, updated zombies, a new GUI, and TACTICAL BANDITS being approved for one console already!! The end of July and beginning of August will be a slow period for TACTICAL BANDITS development as I will be working on some non-development stuff.

One thing I did not manage to do was create any new GIFs or videos, well any usable ones anyway.

So I started this month by updating the GUI in most of the game and the game now feels much different in a good way. The GUI will give a much better user experience for new players and for returning players.

I also updated some visual effects and audio effects, to make it more consistent with the TEN new weapons I created. Altogether, there will be over fifteen weapons in the game, giving players many choices on how to complete levels. The zombies have also been updated so that they attack players AND enemies on a level, since zombies don’t discriminate in the game.

Creating all of this new stuff in the game did lead to bugs being inevitably being introduced. But I managed to fix all of them and even fix old bugs that I didn’t know were in the game already. Some of these bugs were carried over from my previous games, such as Akuto: Showdown and Bad Business, as some legacy code is always carried over into future game projects.

Finally, TACTICAL BANDITS has been approved for Nintendo Switch, so I will be focusing on making the game run smoothly on there while I continue with the development. This is going to be exciting few months for TACTICAL BANDITS.

I know this was a short, and late, development update and that is due to the non-development stuff going on right now. The next update will be much better with at least some game design talk.
